Susan Marie Parr will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the memories she has left behind and the lives she has touched. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday May 29 @ 10:30 at St. Pius X Church in Milton.  Please in lieu of flowers all donations can be made to www.treadstrong.org.

Susan Marie Parr of Walpole, formerly of Hyde Park, passed peacefully on April 27, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 65.  Cherished daughter of the late Francis Parr and H. Marie Parr-Allen, Devoted sister of Richard J. Parr of Florida, Rosie Walisever and her husband Aaron of Las Vegas, NV, Theresa Dineen and her husband Paul of Hyde Park, Daniel M. Parr of Arizona, and the late Francis Parr Jr. and his late wife Angel and Thomas M. Parr and his late wife Barbara.  Devoted "Auntie Susie" of Jeffrey, Christopher, Stephanie, Melissa, Erin, Jennifer, Stacy, Kimberly, Michael, Amy, Jill, Megan, Andrew and the late Adam.  Also survived by 21 great nieces and nephews and many friends who were like family to her.

 

Susan attended St. Gregory High School, after which she advanced her studies at Bunker Hill Community College, earning a degree in X-Ray Technology. Her commitment to her profession led her to the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Comprehensive Medical Imaging. Susan's career as a Specialized X-Ray Technologist was marked by her dedication and mentorship at Boston Medical Center, where she worked for many years, guiding and inspiring new generations in the field.

 

An avid Boston sports fan throughout her life, Susan's enthusiastic support was not limited to professional teams. She was a proud supporter of her nieces and nephews, attending countless games and performances, always cheering them on with love and pride. Her passion for sports was paralleled by her dedication to community service. Susan was a dedicated volunteer with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, where she made a significant impact through her involvement in the "Out of Darkness walks." For over 15 years, she volunteered at these community walks in Boston and other cities, touching the hearts of many. Susan became affectionately known as "The Bead Lady" ,in charge of the bead table, handing out different colored beaded necklaces and taking the time to listen to people's stories, offering comfort and understanding.
