Funeral from the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak Street, Hyde Park, MA Thursday morning at 10:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Precious Blood Church at 11:30AM. Visiting hours Wednesday evening from 4-8PM at the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends invited. Interment at National Cemetery, Bourne.
Susan M. Dashner (Boudreau), a loving and gentle soul, passed away peacefully at her home in Hyde Park, MA on June 7, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 6, 1955, in Boston, MA, Susan was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who touched the lives of many with her kindness and warmth.
Susan was the beloved wife of Joseph E. Dashner (Retired SGT-Detective BPD) for 42 years, having been married on May 30, 1981, by Fr. Paul Ryan. She was the daughter of the late Edward C. Boudreau Jr. (MDC Police) and Catherine Boudreau. Susan was a loving mother to Robert E. Dashner of Colorado, Kelly A. Dashner and her companion Ernesto Martinez of Colorado, and Matthew J. Dashner of Hyde Park. She was also a cherished sister to Judith Faragher and her husband John of Weymouth, Janice Dion and her husband Charles of Weymouth, Sharon Boudreau of Weymouth, Timothy Boudreau of Hyde Park, Thomas Boudreau of Hyde Park, and Edward C. Boudreau III and his wife Erin of Foxboro. Susan was a loving "Nana" to Alexander Joseph Martinez and is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
A proud graduate of Hyde Park High School, class of 1973, Susan went on to further her education at Boston Business, earning an Associate degree in 1975. She worked as an office clerk at the VA hospital until the early 1980s, when she decided to dedicate her time to raising her children and nurturing her family.
Susan had a passion for cooking and enjoyed collecting and reading cookbooks. She was an avid viewer of the Food Network and took pleasure in trying out new recipes for her family and friends. Susan also enjoyed bird watching with her husband, Joseph, and together they appreciated the beauty of nature.
Susan will always be remembered for her loving, kind, and gentle nature. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
As we celebrate the life of Susan M. Dashner, we remember her as a beacon of love, kindness, and grace. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
