Robert (Curtis) Alford of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts passed away suddenly at his home on October 26, 2023, at the age of 50.
Curtis was born August 11, 1973, in New York to Robert. M. and Celeste C. Alford. He spent his childhood in New York City and St. Louis, MO, and earned a degree in English from Webster University, which shaped his love of literature, poetry, and theater. After college, he served in the U.S. Navy and was based in San Diego. He spent his career in hospitality, working at some of the best restaurants and bars in St. Louis, Cleveland, and Boston. He was known for his humor, sharp wit, and passion for music and movies.
He is survived by his youngest daughters, Lillian and Ivy Alford, their mother and his former partner, Courtney Buzzell of Roslindale, MA; his eldest daughter Sierra Alford, and her children Wyatt and Evelynn of Fenton, MO; his brother Benjamin Reynolds of Maplewood, MO; and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Celeste Alford.
Curtis was adored by Ivy and Lily, who loved to laugh and be silly with their daddy. They loved his rain walks, snuggles at home, and fun outings around Boston. He deeply loved all his girls and was so proud of them. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation and services will be from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Saturday, Novermber 4 at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home at 22 Oak Street, Hyde Park, MA. Interment will be at the Mt.
