Patricia Ellen Dwan, known lovingly to all as Pat, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 5, 1938, in Boston, Massachusetts, she lived a life marked by devotion, warmth, and a remarkable spirit that touched everyone who knew her.

Pat was the beloved wife of the late Daniel J. Dwan Sr., with whom she shared a devoted marriage beginning in 1959 until his passing in 2020. Together, they built a strong and loving family and a life filled with hard work, loyalty, laughter, and countless cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to Ann M. Khan and her husband Lalzada of Westwood, Daniel J. Dwan Jr. and his wife Paula of Dedham, Robert A. Dwan, Retired Lt. BPD and U.S. Army Colonel, and his wife Catherine of Norwell, William J. Dwan, Retired Lt. BPD, and his wife Siobhan of Hingham, and Daryle P. Dwan, Retired Lt. BPD, of Florida. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in each of them.

She was the cherished sister of the late Ann Spartachino, Lawrence McLaughlin Jr., and William McLaughlin. Pat was also the loving Nana of Daniel III, Allyson, Meaghan, John, Brittany, Madyson, Sara, Robert Jr., Christopher, Delia, and Shane, and the great-grandmother of Liam and Robert III. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close friends who were blessed by her kindness and steady presence throughout the years.

A graduate of Brighton High School, Pat dedicated more than 40 years of service as a Word Processing and Key Punch Operator for Bank of America and its predecessor institutions. She was known for her reliability, her strong work ethic, and her quiet professionalism. Her long career reflected the same dedication she brought to every part of her life, and she earned the respect and admiration of all who worked with her.

Pat’s life was rich with interests, traditions, and adventures that brought joy to her family and friends. She loved traveling to Aruba twice a year and treasured the many hockey seasons spent following her children from tournament to tournament. That same devotion carried into the lives of her grandchildren, as she never missed a game or sporting event when she could be there to cheer them on. She especially loved the beach and enjoyed her Cape house in Falmouth, where she spent long days by the water, from morning until night, often covered in baby oil and surrounded by her children. She was famous for her meatballs, which were widely considered the best around, and she was a gracious host who always welcomed family for Thanksgiving dinner until she was no longer able.

Pat also shared a deep and lasting connection with the Boston Crusaders, where she and her husband were involved for more than 60 years. She treasured the many trips they took with the corps, traveling across the United States to drum corps contests and competitions, often aboard Greyhound buses with the group. Those years created friendships that lasted a lifetime, and she held especially close the many friends she made through the Boston Crusaders and at Fuller Village. Her adventurous spirit, her loyalty, and her love of community were evident in every chapter of her life.

Those who knew Pat will remember her as loving, adventurous, and friendly. She had a generous heart, a warm smile, and a way of making others feel welcome and cared for. Her family and friends will forever remember her strength, her humor, her devotion, and the many ways she made life brighter for those around her. The family would like to express their special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Faulkner Hospital for their wonderful and loving care.

Patricia Ellen Dwan leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and treasured memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
