We are sad to announce that Olga Eva Szemeredy (Olah) of Dedham, formerly of Hyde Park and South Boston, passed peacefully on May 5, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at the age of 81. Olga immigrated from Hungary in 1965. She was a loving, caring, selfless, and kind person. Family was most important to her and her biggest joy in life was her cherished grandson. She loved and bonded with animals, and loved her pet doves. Olga enjoyed dancing, drawing, and her favorite color was red. She took pride in her appearance, had a unique fashion sense, trendy and fun. She influenced and inspired our love of food with her Hungarian cooking and savory dishes. Olga is the beloved wife of the late Joseph Szemeredy of 28 years. Daughter of the late Imre and Olga Olah. Devoted mother of Melissa Szemeredy of Dedham. Cherished sister of Agnes Owen and her husband Francis of Florida and the late Suzanne Keri, Imre Olah Jr. and Lazlo Olah. Loving grandmother of Johnny McDonald. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visiting hours will be held Friday (May 17) evening from 6 to 9 at the Carroll Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak Street, Hyde Park, MA. Relatives and friends invited. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated down the road on August 17, 2024 at Waterford's Restaurant 2 Bridge Street Dedham from 2-5 PM
