Mary R. Murphy, known affectionately as Mary to all who knew her, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 26, 1967, in Boston, MA, Mary was a beacon of light and joy throughout her 57 years of life.

Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Frances (Diggins) Murphy, and she carried the legacy of her parents' kindness and strength. She was a cherished sister, sharing an unbreakable bond with Denise Donovan of Arizona, Barbara Perucich and her husband John of Arizona, Elaine Pumphret and her husband Jack of Marston Mills. Although she was predeceased by her siblings Lauren Murphy and Lawrence Murphy Jr., the memories and love shared among them remained a source of comfort and pride throughout her life.

Mary found companionship and joy with her devoted partner, Michael Hussey, who stood by her through life's many adventures. She was also a beloved aunt, treasured for her warmth and humor by many nieces, nephews, and was blessed with a wide circle of great friends who will dearly miss her.

A proud graduate of Hyde Park High School, Mary's commitment to her community was evident in her professional life. She dedicated years of service to the Boston Housing Authority, where she worked tirelessly for section 8 housing, managing the scheduling for workers conducting inspections. Her organizational skills and dedication ensured that countless families found comfort and security in their homes.

Mary's passion for community service extended beyond her professional life. She was a 30-year member of the FOGG Roberts Post 78 Auxiliary, where she played an active role in parades and embraced all that the post had to offer. Her involvement was not just an act of service but a reflection of her deep love for her community and country.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Mary will remember her as the life of the party. She had a tremendous sense of humor and a very big personality that could light up any room. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence was a gift that made every moment more enjoyable. Mary's passion for life was matched only by her kindness, as she consistently put others before herself and spread warmth wherever she went.

Mary's interests were as vibrant as her personality. She loved being at the heart of social gatherings, celebrating life's moments big and small with friends and family. Her humor and wit were the highlights of every party, leaving a lasting impression of joy and laughter in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to share in those moments.

In remembering Mary, one cannot help but think of the words passionate, funny, and kind. These qualities defined her and made her the extraordinary person we all cherished. Mary's impact on the world was significant, not only in her accomplishments but in the love, laughter, and kindness she shared so freely.

As we say goodbye to Mary R. Murphy, we celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family and community. Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, and her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her. Mary's journey on this earth may have ended, but the stories of her kindness, humor, and passion will continue to be told for generations to come.
