 Funeral from the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home 22 Oak Street Monday (4/20) morning at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Precious Blood Church Hyde Park at 11:00 AM.  Visiting Hours will be held Sunday (4/19) evening from 4-7 PM at the Funeral Home, relatives and friends invited.  Interment at St Joseph's Cemetery West Roxbury, relatives and friends invited.

Marie Alabiso, known to all as Marie, of Boston, Massachusetts, passed unexpectedly on April 6, 2026, at the age of 82.

Born on April 28, 1943, in Boston, Marie was the beloved daughter of the late Paul and Mary Ellen (Hurley) Alabiso. She was a proud graduate of Hyde Park High School and carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and kindness with her throughout her life. Marie was a loving, kind, and intelligent woman whose presence brought warmth and steadiness to those around her.

Marie devoted more than 30 years of her professional life to serving as a Systems Analyst for the U.S. Government. She approached her work with intelligence, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility, earning the respect of her colleagues over the course of a long and accomplished career. Her commitment to excellence was evident in everything she did, and she took pride in contributing her talents in service to others.

Outside of her career, Marie lived life with energy, curiosity, and joy. She loved her Supper Club and treasured the time spent with friends gathered around good food and conversation. She enjoyed golf and tennis, and she made walking and working out part of her regular routine. She also enjoyed yoga and appreciated the balance and peace it brought to her life. Marie was an enthusiastic sports fan who loved watching all sports and knew all the statistics, a reflection of her sharp mind and genuine interest in the games she followed so closely.

Marie was deeply devoted to her family. She was the loving sister of Nancy Hurney and her husband Rick Beaty of Dover, and the late Ellen Lavin and her late husband Carl D. Lavin. She was a cherished aunt of Lee Hurney and his late wife Andrea of Lexington, Carl P. Lavin and his wife Kerry of Newton, and Khristine Lavin of Colorado. She was a loving great-aunt of Alexandra and Luke Hurney, and Damon and Parker Lavin. Marie is also survived by many close friends, especially those she made in Hyde Park and Plymouth, who will long remember her friendship, humor, and generous spirit.

Those who knew Marie will remember her as a woman of grace and quiet strength, someone who offered kindness freely and made others feel valued. She had a gentle way about her that left a lasting impression, and her intelligence and warmth were evident in every part of her life. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories they shared with her and the love she gave so freely.

Marie’s life was one marked by devotion, accomplishment, and meaningful connections. She will be remembered for her steadfast heart, her lively spirit, and the many ways she enriched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who loved her.
