Margaret M. (Foley) Murray, known affectionately as Margaret Marion (not Peggy!) to her friends and family, passed away peacefully at her home in Dedham, MA, on March 17, 2025. Born in Boston, MA, on July 3, 1961, Margaret was a beacon of joy and love throughout her 63 years.

Margaret's life was a testament to love, having married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Gerry, on May 10, 1986. Their marriage was admired by all, a true partnership that was rarely shaken, save for a lighthearted dispute over a shower curtain. They were known as the perfect couple, illustrating what true companionship looked like. In November 2021, Margaret faced the heartbreaking loss of Gerry to cancer. Despite the pain of his absence, she found the courage and strength to carry on, keeping Gerry's memory alive in her heart with every passing day.

The daughter of the late John and Nora (Flynn) Foley, Margaret was a devoted mother to her sons, Brendan Murray and his girlfriend Jill of Plymouth, and Ryan Murray and his wife Beth of Medford who were her pride and joy. She was a cherished sister to Mary Hickey and her husband Brian, the late Michael Foley, Noreen Camelo, the late John Foley and his wife Jane, Eileen Roche and her husband John, Patrick Foley and his wife Stacey.  Margaret was a devoted Auntie to over 20 nieces and nephew who each learned the value of family from her actions.

Margaret's educational journey began at Girls Latin High School and culminated with a bachelor's degree from Boston State College. Her professional life was marked by a longstanding commitment to the Intex family, where she worked for 28 years. Known for her unwavering spirit and work ethic, Margaret inspired everyone she worked with. Outside of work, she maintained a bond with her Hyde Park girls—Linda, Chrissy, Joyce, and Cindy—that spanned over 50 years. She also held a special place in her heart for Gerry's buddies – Fred, Paul, Tommy, Steve, Nicky- always ready to lend a hand with Patriots tickets.

Margaret's interests were as vibrant and diverse as her personality. Dubbed "Marge in Charge," she was the fearless organizer of all Foley family events, vacations and Tea lady get-togethers, ensuring every detail was perfect for all to enjoy. She cherished her early summers in Turner, Maine, with the Daly family and later embraced the tranquility life in Mashpee, Massachusetts with Gerry and the many family & friends that were always welcomed with open arms and heart. A devoted sports fan, Margaret loved her New England Patriots and enjoyed staying up late to watch Bruins games. But what she loved most was being there for her family.  She printed out her nieces and nephew sport schedules so that she could show up to at least two games each season, she never missed sending a birthday card to every one of them, and was always down for Apples to Apples.

Her love for travel took her to many beautiful destinations, including Ireland, Amsterdam, London, France, Africa, Texas, and California. Each journey was an opportunity for Margaret to embrace new experiences and create lasting memories. Her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, strength, and unconditional love for her family will be missed beyond measure. Margaret was loving, spirited, and passionate—words that only begin to describe the profound impact she had on those around her.

As we mourn the loss of Margaret, we also celebrate her beautiful life. Her legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know her. Although our hearts ache, we find comfort in the cherished memories and the indelible mark she left on this world. Margaret M. (Foley) Murray will forever be remembered as a guiding light and an embodiment of unwavering love.
