Luis A. Velez-Cortes

Luis Arnaldo Velez-Cortes of Hyde Park, born in Isabela, Puerto Rico passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on October 3, 2025 at the age of 74.  Beloved husband of Eileen McLellan de Velez of 44 years.  Cherished brother of Genaro Figueroa of Texas, Luis Antonio Velez-Cortes of Florida, Luisa Velez-Cortes of Boston, Jose Alexander Velez-Cortes of Isabela Puerto Rico, Jose Velez of New Jersey and the late Juan Luis Velez-Cortes, Humberto Velez-Cortes, Ada Velez-Perez, Esperanza Velez-Cortes, Iris Rodriguez, Victor Velez, Angel Velez, Luis S.Velez-Cortes, and Socorro Figueroa.  Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws, and friends.  All services will be private at families request.  Luis was a proud U.S. Army Vietnam Disabled Veteran.  Luis was a dedicated employee of the United States Postal Service in Hyde Park where he did retail sales for many years.  He also graduated from Northeastern in 1983.  All donations in Luis's memory can be made to World Central Kitchen or Wounded Warriors.
