McCORMACK, Joseph of Lowell, formerly of Hyde Park, age 59 died unexpectedly in the hospital after a brief illness, August 20, 2022. Beloved son of Catherine and the late Thomas of West Roxbury, formerly of Hyde Park and earlier of Co. Roscommon, Ireland. Also survived by his siblings, John and his wife Julie (O'Brien) of Hyde Park, Patrick of Lowell, Paul and his wife Kathleen (Doyle) of South Easton, Mary Elizabeth of West Roxbury, and James of Hyde Park; his nephews and niece, Thomas, Erin and Matthew of South Easton, and Luke and Declan of Hyde Park; his godmother and aunt, Chrissie McCormack of Hyde Park; and many cousins locally and overseas. Proud alumnus of Boston Latin School (1981) and U. Mass. Amherst (1986). A gifted technical writer, Joe was dedicated to literacy in society and was a bibliophile. Joe will be remembered as gregarious, kind, generous, and witty. Funeral from the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak St., HYDE PARK, on Monday, August 29, 2022, visiting hours 8:30 to 11 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Precious Blood Church at 11:30 am.
