John Hannon Obituary

John W. Hannon, Sr., a lifelong resident of Hyde Park, passed away peacefully at his home on March 19.  He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Hannon (Jeannetti).  John leaves behind his four (4) children whom he adored and he considered his greatest accomplishment, Barbie Ryan and her husband Tommy, Kathy McCue and her husband Bill, Sandy Hannon and her finance Paul Lavallee, John Hannon Jr., and his wife Kerri.  John is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Patrick O'Brien and his wife Amanda, Patrick Young Jr., Courtney McCue, Michael McCue, Zoe Jayne Hannon and Jake Hannon, Karlie Ray MacDonald.  John is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Katherine Hannon of Hyde Park; his brother Thomas and Francis Hannon and his sisters Mary Finamore and Jane O'Brien.  John will be missed by his siblings; Catherine Buccigross, Elizabeth McLaughlin and her husband Denis, Margaret Grenier and the late Francis Grenier, Debbie McGrath, Daniel Hannon and his late wife Rita and James (Butchie) Hannon and his wife Maureen; also Gloria Hannon, wife of the late Thomas Hannon.  Also survived by many sisters and brothers in law. John was a retired member of the local 25 Teamsters Union.  He was know as "H man" to his family and close friends.  John will be remembered for his outstanding kindness and immeasurable love for his family.  He treasured time outside working in his yard and garage and was a staple in his neighborhood.  His navy blue dickies and Irish scally cap will never go out of style.  John was also a proud U. S. Army veteran.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association, alz.org and or St Jude Children's Research Foundation, st.jude.org
