Janice M. Rumpf, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 21, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on July 30, 1947, in Boston, MA, Janice lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family, her students, and her community.

Janice was the devoted wife of the late Carl T. Rumpf, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage until his passing in 2006. She was the loving daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret DeChristopher and the cherished sister of the late Joseph DeChristopher, leaving behind her sister-in-law Marge. Janice's legacy continues through her dedicated children: Karl Rumpf and his wife Jennifer of Stoughton, Kourtney Rumpf of Hyde Park and her fiancé Jason MacGugan, and she was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberlee Redden, whose spouse Paul of Quincy remains. She was a proud grandmother, always holding a special place in her heart for her late granddaughter Karissa, and she will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

A proud graduate of Hyde Park High School, Janice's commitment to education was evident in her career as a Paraprofessional at the Boston Public School System, where she served with dedication for over 35 years. Her passion for helping others extended to her work at TILL for over 25 years, where she supported special needs children as a teacher's aide. Janice's selfless nature and faith-filled spirit were the cornerstones of her life's work.

Janice's zest for life shone through in her many interests and activities. She enjoyed the thrill of playing slots and bingo during her trips to Foxwoods with her daughter Kourtney, a pastime they both cherished. An avid bowler, Janice was a fixture at Ron's in Hyde Park, where she participated in a league with friends and family every Wednesday night for years. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her walks around Castle Island, often accompanied by her children and husband on late-night excursions.

Family holidays were a highlight for Janice, who relished the joy of being a guest at her sister-in-law's gatherings. She cherished her Saturday afternoons spent with her in-laws Carol and Louise. Janice and her husband Carl shared a love for adventure, embarking on spontaneous cruises to Bermuda or the Bahamas in their younger years. Her dedication to her faith community was reflected in her membership in the St. Raphael Guild at MPB Church.

Described by those who knew her as loving, selfless, and faith-filled, Janice's unwavering dedication to her job and the care she provided to her students and special needs children was nothing short of inspirational. Her warmth, generosity, and love of life touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Janice M. Rumpf's life was a testament to the power of love, service, and commitment. Her memory will be treasured, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who carry her legacy forward. Janice's presence will be deeply missed, but the impact of her love and kindness will be felt for generations to come.
