James "Butchie" Hannon of Lynnfield formely of Hyde Park passed peacefully on Feb 28 at the age of 78. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife Maureen (Donahue) Hannon and her family Elizabeth Plum and Timothy Donahue, many loving nieces, great nieces, and one nephew. Butch a loyal son and brother was preceded by his parents Francis and Katherine Hannon of Hyde Park; his brother Francis "Moppy" Hannon, John W. Hannon, Thomas M. Hannon, and his sisters Mary P. Finamore and Jane T. O'Brien. He will be terribly missed by his siblings Catherine Buccigross, Elizabeth McLaughtin, Daniel P. Hannon, Maggie Grenier, and Debbie McGrath. Butchie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and many dear friends. Butch was a retired Local 25 Teamsters Union, one of a kind. Butch is known far and wide as a kind soul who helped all he could. He was an avid skiier and photographer. With his keen sense of humor and quick wit, he created a legacy of a life well lived. He will greatly missed by all and he has left a huge void in our lives.
Funeral will be held Wednesday morning, March 9th at 10 at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home 22 Oak Street Hyde Park followed by a mass of christian burial at Most Precious Blood Church Hyde Park at 11. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening March 8th from 5-8 at the funeral home. Internment will be held at St Marys Cemetery in Lynn. Relatives and friends invited.
