Ivan Humberto Bastidas Gonzalez was born in Cartagena, Colombia on September 25, 1961 to parents Luis Humberto Bastidas Goyes and Lucia Gonzalez de Bastidas. He was a father to Lucia, Luis, Alonso, Santiago, Jamil and Jennifer Bastidas. A loving grandfather to Luciana, Alonso Jr, Isabella, Luis Jr., and baby Elias. Raised in Colombia and later moved to Ecuador with his parents and siblings. Ivan came to the United States in 2016, to reunite with his two oldest children. He would be the life of the party and the one to make anyone laugh. He was one to show support for change and was never afraid to try new things. He learned to travel here in Boston, along with learning a new language. He was never afraid to fail in something in order to learn from his mistakes. Ivan passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 17th and will be missed by all his family and friends. Ivan left without saying goodbye as a way for everyone to know he will alway be there in spirit. Iván Humberto Bastidas González nació en Cartagena, Colombia el 25 de septiembre de 1961 de padres Luis Humberto Bastidas Goyes y Lucía González de Bastidas. Fue padre de Lucía, Luis, Alonso, Santiago, Jamil y Jennifer Bastidas. Un abuelo para Luciana, Alonso Jr, Isabella, Luis Jr. y Elias. Criado en Colombia y luego se mudó a Ecuador con sus padres y hermanos. Iván llegó a los Estados Unidos en 2016 para reunirse con sus dos hijos mayores. Fue una persona muy alegre siempre de buen humor haciendo reir con su chistes.  Era de los que mostraban su apoyo al cambio de nada y nunca tuvo miedo de probar cosas nuevas. Aprendió a movilizarse aquí en Boston, además de aprender un nuevo idioma. Nunca tuvo miedo de fallar en algo para aprender de sus errores. Iván falleció inesperadamente el martes 17 de mayo y toda su familia y amigos lo extrañarán. Iván se fue sin despedirse como una forma de que todos supieran que siempre estará allí en espíritu.
