Visiting hours will be held Wednesday (June 11) from 11-12:30 at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home 22 Oak Street Hyde Park. Interment at Shara Tfilo Cemetery in West Roxbury, relatives and friends invited.
Iris Gail Lazan, affectionately known as Iris by those who knew and loved her, passed away on June 3, 2025, in Hyde Park, formerly of Brookline. Born on January 8, 1941, in Los Angeles, California, Iris was a beacon of light and joy throughout her 84 years of life.
Iris was the beloved wife of the late Joseph G. Don Adio, a cherished partnership that brought her much happiness. She was the treasured daughter of the late Harold and Rose (Snyder) Lazan and the adored niece of the late Beatrice E. Snyder. Her warmth and kindness extended to her role as a loving aunt to Lisa Clinton and grandaunt to Susan Clinton of Dedham. Iris's memory will be forever held in the hearts of her family, including many other relatives and a host of friends whose lives she touched.
For a decade, Iris owned and operated an art studio in Boca Raton, Florida, where she channeled her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. Her dedication and involvement in her community were evident through her active membership at the VFW Post. This organization was not only a significant part of her life but also a platform where she made lasting contributions and formed enduring friendships.
Iris's zest for life was as boundless as the ocean she loved. She spent countless days at the beach in Florida, embracing the sun and the sea with open arms. Her hobbies extended beyond the shoreline as she enjoyed playing cards, participating in animated bingo games, and experiencing the thrill of the casino. Iris was also a consummate shopper, always on the lookout for the next great find.
Her generosity knew no bounds. Iris generously donated to every cause that sought her support, embodying the spirit of giving and making a difference in countless lives.
Those who knew Iris would describe her as friendly, gentle, and creative. She approached life with a kindness that drew people to her, and her gentle demeanor was a source of comfort to many. Iris's creative soul not only found expression through her art but also in the way she lived her life—colorfully, joyfully, and with an open heart.
As we bid farewell to Iris Gail Lazan, we celebrate a life lived with love, laughter, and a touch of artistic flair.
