Irene L. Rogaris, born on December 6, 1944 in Boston, MA, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2023, in Margate, Florida. Known for her friendly demeanor, loving heart, and kind spirit, Irene was a beacon of warmth and comfort to all who knew her.
The beloved wife of the late Ernest A. Rogaris, to whom she was married in 1969 until his passing in 2002, Irene was a devoted partner and loving mother. She is survived by her children, Karen Hoey and her husband Joseph of Norton, Cheryl Dooley and her husband Roger of Bellingham, and Philip Rogaris and his partner Lori Music of Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Irene's love for her family was evident in everything she did, from the meals she lovingly prepared to the time she spent caring for her loved ones.
Irene was the cherished sister of the late Norman Ferzoco and is survived by her sister-in-law, Maryelizabeth Ferzoco of Pennsylvania. She was also a doting "Grandma" to her grandchildren, Alexander and Jacob Hoey. In addition to her immediate family, Irene leaves behind a loving niece, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember her fondly.
A graduate of high school and secretarial school, Irene dedicated her life to the care and nurturing of her family. Her work was not confined to a typical job, but rather found in the everyday tasks of raising children, supporting her husband, and maintaining a loving home in Wrentham for 19 years. Her commitment to her family was unwavering and served as a testament to her character.
One of Irene's many joys was spending time with her friends and cousins. She was also a talented cook, frequently delighting her family with her culinary creations. Every Sunday, she would visit her parents' house in Readville with her family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Irene was also known for her festive spirit, always eager to celebrate holidays with her family. When her parents aged, she took on the role of their caregiver with grace and compassion, further demonstrating her selfless nature.
In 2006, Irene moved to Florida, where she spent seven years in Delray Beach before moving to Margate. These years were filled with sunshine, new friends, and the same familial love that had always been a cornerstone of her life. Despite the distance, she remained closely connected to her family, always making sure they knew how much she cared.
Irene L. Rogaris will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her kindness, friendliness, and love touched all who knew her and will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to brighten the world, just as she did during her lifetime.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in Irene Rogaris's name.
