Ginette Calixte was a woman of profound love and unwavering strength.
She was born in Saint Marc, beautiful daughter of Mullery Calixte and Sylvanie Chery, She shared a deep bond with her large family .Her life was marked by love, sacrifice and devotion to her family. She was a faithful servant of God, She was loved and loved by her family she was courageous, jovial lady, appreciated by her brothers, sisters and friends. She gave each one of her nephews and nieces a nickname.
In 1988 she took a courageous decision to move permanently in the United States, seeking new opportunities for herself sand family. She went back to school and worked at Marriotts as an associate help services for 27 years .She was doing well and happy.
In 2013, she had one of her thyroid nodule removed .In 2014 and 2015 respectively she had a surgery into her gallbladder and her pancreas tail, In 2018,she had her first knee replacement in one leg and she survived to all.
In 2019, while she was taking a bus and by mistake the bus driver did not pay attention to much not seeing her completely entered closed the door with her left foot. She was injured and suffered for months and years. Lastly in 2021 , after the passing of our beloved sister Ghislaine, her twin and our mother she became depressed and was devastated, No celebrations of birthdays.For the last 7 months she was complaining a lot about her leg and she decided to have a surgery in the left leg which went well and 2 days after she became sepsis. She was in ICU for weeks and she went to rehabilitation, she was getting better .On October 10 ,at 6:12 am they called to inform us that she fell and she went under cardiac arrest, they transferred her to Cambridge Hospital where she later passed .
The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words of encouragements during this difficult time. Our hearts are heavy, but your sympathies will give us the ability to continue to live her legacy.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday October 26 from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home 22 Oak Street Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at Most Precious Blood Church Hyde Park right after the wake on Saturday morning. Interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Hyde Park. Relatives and friends invited.
