George D. Murray of Ludlow formerly of Hyde Park, passed peacefully on September 18 at the age of 77. Devoted father of Kerri Murray-Scaramuzzo and her companion Neil Kantelis of Mansfield, Lynn Robbins and her husband Christopher of Seekonk, and the late Kevin Murray (U.S. Army Veteran) Loving "Grampy" of 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and also survived by many other relatives and friends. Funeral from The Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home 22 Oak Street Hyde Park Monday morning at 8:00 AM with a service at the Funeral Home starting at 8:45 AM. Visiting hours Sunday evening from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Internment at Veterans National Cemetery Bourne Monday at 10:45 AM, relatives and friends invited. The family would like to inform everyone that they don't need to go down to Bourne with them, and they will be meeting back at 1:00 on Monday at V.F.W. Post 1018 (205 American Legion Highway) Dorchester. George was a dedicated Vietnam Army Veteran and he was very active in many organizations. He was Past Department V.F.W. MA Commander 2010-2011, Past V.F.W. National Member 2013-2017, Life member V.F.W. Post 1018 holding various positions at the Post and District Level, Service Manager for 25 years at S.J. McNelly Oldsmobile in Brookline, and a retired City of Boston employee. Please in lieu of flowers all donations in George's memory can be made to V.F.W.
