Francis L. Harrington, affectionately known as Fran to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at his home in Hyde Park on January 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 14, 1946, in Boston, MA, Fran lived a  life that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Fran was the beloved husband of Annemarie (Warjas) Harrington, sharing a beautiful marriage of 41 years since their union in 1983. He was a loving son to his late parents, Joseph E. Harrington and Eleanor Gallagher, as well as to his late stepfather, Walter. Fran's memory will be cherished by his children: Tinamarie DeAngelis Fegan and her husband Anthony of Randolph, Fran J. Harrington of Jamaica Plain, and Jason Harrington and his wife Ivonne of Hyde Park. He was a proud and doting "Papa" to his loving grandchildren, Jonathan and Ashley Fegan.

Fran leaves behind his brother, James Harrington and his wife Margaret of Dorchester, and he is preceded in death by his siblings, Joseph Harrington and his late wife Sue, and Roseanne Comeau. His legacy continues through the many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.

Fran was  a Painter with the Boston Housing Authority, taking pride in his work and his association with the Painters Union (Painters and Allied Trades D.C. 35). His commitment to his craft was only matched by his dedication to his family and his numerous interests.

An avid traveler, Fran found joy in exploring new places, whether it was hitting the links for a round of golf, trying his luck at the casino, or playing a spirited game of Pinochle, cribbage or hearts. In his younger days, Fran could often be found on the ocean, aboard his beloved boat. A true Boston sports enthusiast, Fran held season tickets to the Bruins and was a fixture in front of the television, cheering on all the Boston teams.

Fran's children and grandchildren were the biggest source of his happiness, and he reveled in the time spent with his family. He fondly recalled road trips to destinations like Las Vegas and Florida. He had a great sense of humor and love of people ; Fran was always ready with a joke or riddle, eager to make those around him laugh.

The words that best describe Fran are loving, funny, and courageous. He faced life's challenges with a smile and an unwavering spirit that inspired everyone he met. His courage was not just in how he lived his life but also in how he shared his life's journey with others, leaving a legacy of love and laughter.
