Elena (Cucinotta) Morganelli, a beacon of love and joy, passed peacefully on July 20, 2024, in her hometown of Readville, formerly of the North End of Boston. Born on July 1, 1936, in Boston, MA, Elena's life was a tapestry of cherished moments shared with family, friends, and the community she adored.

In September 1959, Elena married her beloved husband, the late George J. Morganelli. Their love story blossomed, and just a year into their marriage, they welcomed their first child, setting the foundation for a family filled with warmth and devotion. Elena was a loving mother to Karen Calligandes and her husband Paul of Cincinnati, Ohio, and George Morganelli Jr. of Braintree. She was a cherished sister to Anthony Cucinotta and his wife Lisa of Medford. Her joy multiplied as she became a grandmother to Jeanna, Anthony, and Alessia, and a great-grandmother to Dakota. Elena's heart and home were always open, and she leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends who were touched by her kindness.

After graduating high school, Elena spent about 5 years working as a Switchboard Operator for New England Bell Telephone Company showcased her ability to connect people, a skill she carried throughout her life. When her children were born, she embraced the role of a stay-at-home mother, pouring her love and energy into raising her family.

Elena's interests were as vibrant as her personality. She cherished her trips to the beach, the competitive spirit of playing checkers, and the thrill of travel. Together with her husband, she embarked on numerous cruises, exploring the world and creating memories. A highlight was their journey to Italy with friends, as well as multiple visits to Las Vegas, where she relished the excitement of casinos around the Northeast. An avid bowler, Elena also enjoyed the rhythm and fun of weekly Zumba classes with her friends.

Her commitment to her community was evident in her volunteer work at local schools and her involvement with St. Anne's School in Readville before its closure. Elena's love for shopping led her to Macy's, a place she visited as often as she could, always finding joy in the little things. She was deeply involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren, cherishing the time spent with them, especially during the holidays. A social butterfly, Elena's presence was a delight to her friends, with whom she shared countless dinners and adventures.

Elena's spirit was characterized by her loving nature, her kindness, and her vivacious energy. She had a gift for making every person she met feel special and valued. Her laughter was infectious, her advice was sought after, and her ability to listen made her a confidante to many.

The legacy that Elena (Cucinotta) Morganelli leaves behind is one of unwavering love, boundless enthusiasm for life, and the profound impact she had on those around her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the life she lived so fully and the countless lives she touched with her spirited soul. Elena's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
