Eileen Josephine (Greb) Jerzylo, a loving and gentle soul, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2023, in Salem, Massachusetts, just shy of her 97th birthday. Born on May 15, 1926, in Boston, Massachusetts, Eileen was the cherished wife of the late Stephen Jerzylo and a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Eileen was the beloved mother of four children: Stephen Jerzylo Jr. and his wife Penny of Sparks, Nevada; Diane M. Oittinen and her husband Peter of Panama City, Florida; Michael Jerzylo and his wife Carolyn of Westford; and Raymond A. Jerzylo and his wife Cindy of Salem. She was the proud and loving grandmother of Erin, Melissa and her husband Josh, Zachary, Benjamin, Lily, and Andrew, and the doting great-grandmother of Barrett and Eulalia. Eileen was the dear sister of the late Stanley, Gloria, Edna, and Joan, and is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
A graduate of high school, Eileen went on to work as a Lunch Aid at Boston Public Schools, where she was known for her kindness and dedication to the well-being of the students. Her gentle nature and warm smile made her a favorite among the children and staff alike.
Eileen took great pride in maintaining her home, creating a welcoming and nurturing environment for her family and friends. Her love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life, from the care she took in preparing meals to the way she doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her kindness and generosity extended beyond her family, as she was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends in need.
In her later years, Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family, sharing stories of her life and reminiscing about the many happy memories they had created together. She also enjoyed the company of her friends, who would often visit her at her home in Salem. Eileen's gentle spirit and loving nature will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Eileen's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Salem Hospital for their compassionate care and support during her final days.
Eileen Josephine (Greb) Jerzylo will be remembered as a loving, kind, and gentle woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
