Edythe Carriere

Visiting hours will be held Thursday (March 13) from 4-7 PM a the Carroll -Thomas Funeral Home 22 Oak Street, Hyde Park.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (March 14) at 10:00 AM at St John Chrysostom Church (4750 Washington St. West Roxbury). Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery Roslindale, relatives and friends invited.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edythe Juliette Carriere, fondly known as Edy, who left us peacefully on February 13, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on March 18, 1937, Edy was a loving Sister and Auntie, and her spirit will forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Edy had a fulfilling career as a payroll manager at Polaroid, where she dedicated many years not only to her work but to nurturing invaluable friendships with her colleagues. Her quick wit and infectious sense of humor made even the most ordinary days feel special, providing warmth and joy to the lives of everyone around her.

Edy was more than just a professional; she was a true adventurer at heart. With an insatiable zest for life, she treasured every moment spent traveling with family and friends. Whether exploring new cities or enjoying the beauty of nature, Edy embraced every journey with an open heart and joyful spirit, leaving cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
As a sister and aunt, Edy shared her affection and wisdom with her loved ones, bringing light into their lives with her laughter and guidance. She taught us to find joy in every moment and to appreciate the little things in life.
Edy is survived by her loving family and countless friends who will remember her for her boundless love and her remarkable ability to light up a room with her presence. Though her journey has come to an end, the legacy of her laughter, love, and adventurous spirit will continue to inspire us all.
In honoring Edy’s memory, we encourage everyone to celebrate her life by embracing adventures, sharing laughter, and cherishing the bonds we hold dear. She has left an indelible mark on our lives and will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
Rest in peace, dear Edy. Your spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
