Donald P. Hussey, a lifelong resident of Boston, MA, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023, in Hyde Park, MA. Born in Boston on November 22, 1933, Donald was a loving, kind, and gentle soul who touched the lives of many with his warmth and generosity.
Donald was a loving husband of the late Marion F. (Walsh). Devoted father to Patrick W. Hussey and his wife Catherine of Foxboro, Michael Hussey and his companion Mary Murphy of Readville, and Maureen Hanley and her husband Joseph of Franklin. He was a cherished brother of Claire Rose of Weymouth and the late Charles Hussey, Margaret McLaughlin, and Kay Hussey. Donald took great pride in being a loving "Papa" to his grandchildren Kelly, Kayla, Molly, Erin, Meaghan, and Michael, always making time to attend their events and share in their accomplishments. Donald also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and friends.
Visiting hours will be held Monday morning from 9-11AM at the Carroll-Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak Street, Hyde Park followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Precious Blood Church, Hyde Park at 11:30AM. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA.
A proud high school graduate, Donald's strong work ethic and dedication to his community were evident throughout his life. He was a longtime business partner with the late Dottie White of Dottie's Deli in Hyde Park, where he was known for his delicious homemade meals and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. His passion for cooking extended beyond the deli, as he often spent time in the kitchen at home, creating memorable meals for his family and friends. Donald's love for his community was further demonstrated through his involvement in various associations and organizations over the years.
Throughout his life, Donald was known for his kindness, generosity, and gentle nature. He had a special ability to connect with people and make them feel valued and appreciated. His strong sense of community and commitment to helping others made a lasting impact on those who knew him. Donald's memory will live on in the hearts and minds of his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Donald will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind. His family and friends will forever cherish the time they shared with him and the love he brought into their lives.
