Carl Augustus Daley, born on November 3, 1940, in Tela, Honduras, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 8, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts. His journey through life was marked by his unwavering dedication to his family, his passion for his work, and the joy he found in his many interests.

Carl's early years in Honduras were met with challenges, including the loss of his mother when he was just four years old. His beloved grandmother, Florence Daley (NaNa), stepped in to raise him, instilling in him the values of hard work and determination that would come to define him. He graduated from high school in Honduras, carrying with him the lessons and love that his grandmother had imparted.

Following his move to the United States in 1970, Carl began his career at Doherty Mills and Dutch Maid. His tenacity and work ethic shone through, and he continued his professional journey at Star Market after they acquired Doherty Mills. Carl served as a Bake Shop Manager for over 35 years, never once calling in sick—a testament to his dedication and resilience. His colleagues and employees respected him for his commitment and his amiable nature.

Carl was a man of many interests, each reflecting the vibrant and passionate spirit he carried throughout his life. A sports enthusiast, he would eagerly await the World Cup, with futbol consistently gracing the television screen at home. His love for cars was evident in his enjoyment of car shows, where he could appreciate the craftsmanship and design of classic and modern vehicles alike.

Travel was another of Carl's great pleasures. Alongside his wife and kids, he explored the Caribbean, Central America and Europe, creating memories in every corner of the globe they visited. His collection of rum was more than a hobby—it was a representation of his adventures, with each bottle from the islands holding a story that he would gladly share with friends as he gifted them a taste of his travels.

Carl was a man who kept his finger on the pulse of the world. News and politics were part of his daily routine, reflecting his desire to understand the world and its workings. His friends and family will remember the lively discussions and insightful commentary that Carl brought to every conversation.

Above all, Carl was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving children, Darlene Brooks of Atlanta, Georgia, Valencia and Carl (Jon Jon) Daley, Eric Daley and Carla Daley, both of Hyde Park. He was a cherished brother to Roy Daley and his wife Anna of San Marcos, Texas. Carl was a loving grandfather, who felt the deep loss of his late grandson, Jermaine Brooks and great grandfather to Sean Christian Brooks and Miah Ariel Brooks. As the cherished son of his late mother Olive Daley and father Mr. Grant, he continued to honor her memory in his actions and love for his family.

Carl's legacy is also carried on by his many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends, who will fondly remember his passion, friendliness, and selflessness. His ability to connect with others, to share a laugh, or to offer support was unmatched, and it is these qualities that will be missed most by all who knew him.

Carl Augustus Daley lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Carl's life was a journey well-traveled, and his memory will be treasured forever.
